Write your sheets and recipes in another language
Add the languages your team reads, then fill in each sheet's translation beside the original. Guests can get a language switch too — only if you turn it on.
Where:RestaurantLanguages
On Restaurant, find the Languages card and check You write in is the language your menu is written in.
This translates nothing — it just says which language the original text is in, so the other tabs know what they're translating from.
Under Also offer, use Add a language to pick each language your team reads. Up to five.
Each one saves as you add it. Remove one with its ✕ — everything you translated stays saved; it just stops being offered.
Open a spec sheet on FoH training, or a recipe on BoH recipes or Bar recipes. A row of tabs now sits under the title: the original first, then each language.
On a language tab every field shows the original text above the box you type into. Leave anything blank and staff see the original in its place, marked as such.
Fill in what you can. Each box saves as you leave it.
Section names and ingredient names are translated once for the whole menu: under Spec sheets, use Translate section names and Translate ingredients.
Handing it to a translator? On Restaurant, under Hand it to a translator, use Download CSV for that language, have them fill in the last column, then Upload CSV. You'll see what would change before anything is saved.
Blank cells change nothing, so a half-finished file is safe to upload. Rows that no longer match your menu are skipped and listed.
To send a link that opens in that language, use the language button beside Copy link and pick the language.
Staff can switch languages on the link themselves at any time; this only picks what it opens in.
